Justice Antonin "Sixth Amendment" Scalia wrote the majority decision that crime lab reports may not be used against a defendant unless the crime analyst testifies. Per the NYT, Scalia wrote that the Constitution would require the right to cross-examine witnesses even if, "all analysts always possessed the scientific acumen of Mme.
